ZAGREB, CROATIA – May 28, 2025 — CarbonClear d.o.o., a leading European developer of nature-based carbon credit projects, is pleased to announce the appointment of Aquascope Solutions Ltd as the official Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) agency for its flagship Notranjski Park Carbon Project in Slovenia.
This milestone partnership marks a critical step toward CarbonClear’s strategy to achieve high-integrity carbon credit certification under the evolving EU Carbon Removal & Carbon Farming (CRCF) Framework. Aquascope will deliver comprehensive field-based and digital MRV services including a full Carbon Asset Verification (CAVe), baseline and sequestration analysis, scenario-based additionality modeling, and co-benefits reporting across water, biodiversity, and community dimensions.
“We are thrilled to partner with Aquascope, whose scientific rigor and integrated MRV platform with its unique integration of ecohydrology models and expertise align perfectly with our goal to position CarbonClear at the forefront of CRCF-compliant carbon project development,” said Oleg Mićević, CEO of CarbonClear. “Their field-verified reporting and advanced data modelling and monitoring tools will enable us to meet the EU’s highest standards for integrity, transparency, and long-term climate impact.”
The Notranjski Park Carbon Project is CarbonClear’s first pilot within a network of protected areas targeted for certification and monetisation of high-quality carbon removals. The four-month MRV engagement will culminate in the delivery of a CAVe report, setting the baseline for future credit issuance.
“CarbonClear’s vision for scientifically credible, nature-based solutions in Europe is bold and timely,” added Paul Edmunds, CEO of Aquascope. “We are proud to bring our proprietary monitoring tools and decades of environmental verification expertise our team brings to help operationalise this ambition and deliver impact at scale.”
Aquascope’s digital MRV platform—featuring AquaBase, AquaScenario, and AquaMonitor dashboards—will be deployed alongside the verification report, enabling live monitoring, compliance reporting, and the integrity and transparency required for investor confidence.
This collaboration exemplifies a new generation of carbon projects built on verifiable data, long-term permanence, and ecological co-benefits offering an attractive pathway for institutional investors and regulatory alignment with upcoming EU standards.
